Registration is currently closed. Before accounts open, this notice will identify the production authentication cookies and verified lifetimes. Account cookies will be limited to sign-in and security, not advertising.

The first release uses only technology needed for account security, subscription access and chosen reading settings.
Effective 2026-09-02Security token
The first-party ak_csrf cookie lasts one hour. It protects account and progress changes against cross-site requests. It is HTTP only, same-site and secure over HTTPS. It has no advertising purpose.
Reading preferences and progress
First-party local storage uses ak-text-scale for your chosen text size and ak-reading-progress followed by a reading identifier for your position and completion state. These records remain until you clear site data or delete your account in that browser. They do not track you across other sites.
No optional tracking
Analytics, advertising, social tracking, session replay and behavioural profiling are off. There is no consent banner while only strictly necessary technology is active.
Change control
Any new technology must enter the processor and technology register, receive a purpose and duration assessment, and remain off until any required consent is obtained.
