Terms of service.
These terms cover your personal use of the guided reading library and your monthly subscription.
Effective 2026-09-02Where subscriptions are offered
Paid subscriptions are initially offered only to residents of the United States and Israel. We do not currently accept paid orders from the UK or EEA. Free samples remain publicly readable.
Service and age
Ancient Knowledge Club provides source based guided reading to adults aged 18 and over. One personal account may not be resold, shared publicly or used to interfere with service security.
Subscription and renewal
The Library costs USD 8.99 monthly before any local tax or currency presentation shown by Paddle. It renews monthly until cancellation. The checkout shows the final total and renewal terms before an order.
Paddle billing
Paddle acts as Merchant of Record for paid orders. Paddle processes payment, applicable transaction taxes, receipts and billing support. Ancient Knowledge Club operates the product and remains responsible for product delivery and support.
Digital access
The first finished reading of each book is public. Remaining readings require an entitled account. Access starts only after the trusted server receives and verifies the relevant Paddle subscription event.
Cancellation
You may stop renewal through the account portal. Access normally remains until the effective cancellation date. Paused or cancelled access ends when the verified subscription state requires it.
Initial purchase guarantee
Request a full refund within 14 calendar days of your initial purchase by emailing ancientknowledgeclub@thesmios.com. This guarantee applies even if you started reading. Renewals remain subject to mandatory rights and remedies for billing errors or defective service.
Mandatory rights
Nothing here excludes rights that applicable consumer law does not allow a trader to exclude. Immediate digital supply consent is recorded separately before checkout where relevant.
Source texts and Club material
Named source texts may have different rights by territory. Club guides, cover drawings, site copy and design remain separate original material. Automated extraction or redistribution of paid Club material is not permitted.
Availability and changes
We may correct a guide, retire an edition with a rights defect or suspend access needed to protect the service. Material subscription changes receive clear notice where law requires it.
